July 19, 2024 – The Brooks Bandits of the BCHL are excited to announce the hiring of Brandon Elias as the team’s Media Manager.
Elias hails from St. Albert, AB, where he spent the 2023-24 season Interning with the Oilers Entertainment Group. He produced videos, social media content, camera work, game day presentation and filled other media responsibilities for the Edmonton Oil Kings. He also gained experience doing camera work for the Edmonton Oilers.
His role in Brooks will include overseeing gameday video production, social media, website, content, game highlights, graphics, game film and media requests.
“I’m super excited to be joining the Brooks Bandits. They’re a top team in Canada and can’t wait to bring my passion and excitement to the team, the City and the fans,” said Elias.
A graduate of the NAIT Television Program, Elias is also a trained Chef, and served as the Front of House Manager for the Boston Pizza Ice District in Edmonton since 2021. He also gained experience as volunteering for St. Albert minor hockey since 2015 in media production.
“As we worked through the process of adding to our off-ice staff, it was apparent from our first meeting with Brandon that he is passionate about hockey. His previous experiences along with his formal training made him an ideal person for the position. At the outset we were looking for someone to add value and improve our off ice operation, we feel Brandon is the right person to help take us to the next level,” said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannou.
“We’re looking forward to having Brandon join the team and make the move to Brooks. His passion for the game and his enthusiasm to lead our media is what stood out in the interview. We’re excited to welcome him and his skills to our office,” said Bandits Business Manager, Nathan Crosby.
Elias will start July 29th.
