February 10, 2025 – The Brooks Bandits of the BCHL have acquired forward Luke Bibby from the Vernon Vipers in exchange for defenceman Shane Burns.
Bibby returns to Brooks where he played during the 2022-23 season, scoring nine points in the 24 games and three playoff games. He was part of the Bandits team that won the 2023 AJHL Championship and 2023 Centennial Cup in Portage la Prairie, MB.
Bibby spent the 2023-24 season with the Nanaimo Clippers for 10 games, before finding a home in Vernon where he scored 22 points in 44 games with the Vipers, and added three goals in 10 playoff games.
This year, the 2004-born left shot forward tallied 19 points (8G, 11A) in 36 games for Vernon.
The Brantford, ON native was recruited to Brooks in 2022 after playing in Cambridge with the Redhawks of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL).
Burns played in 13 games for Brooks during the 2024-25 season, tallying three assists. The Bandits wish Shane the best in Vernon and thank him for his contributions in Brooks.
The Bandits return to the ice on Friday, February 14th when they host the Cranbrook Bucks. Game time is 7:00 pm.
